Our Pool Classes at Defined Fitness
- Water in Motion®
- Aqua Fitness
- Aqua Zumba®
- Adaptive Aquatics
Water in Motion® – A high-energy, music-driven workout that pairs choreographed cardio with the natural resistance of water. Raise your heart rate and train your full body while staying low-impact.
Aqua Fitness – A classic water aerobics class combining cardio intervals, strength work, and balance training using pool equipment and bodyweight. Get total-body conditioning with minimal stress on your joints.
Aqua Zumba® – All the dance-party energy of Zumba—just in the pool. The water adds resistance (and a little splash), so you’ll sweat, smile, and burn calories without the impact.
Adaptive Aquatics – A slower-paced class built for sore joints, limited mobility, or post-surgery movement. You’ll focus on gentle strength, range of motion, and feeling better week to week.
What Makes Defined Fitness Aquatics Different?

All-access membership – Unlimited pool and class use are included in every Defined Fitness membership—no lane-rental fees, ever.
Why Train in the Water?
Easy on your joints, tough on your muscles –
Water supports your body weight, so you get a real workout with less impact.
Strength from every angle –
Every push, pull, and twist meets resistance, so you’re training more muscles at once.
Cardio without overheating –
You can get your heart rate up and still feel comfortable since the water helps keep you cool.
Move better –
Water-based movements build range of motion, balance, and core control in a way that feels natural.
Great for recovery –
The water’s gentle pressure can help reduce swelling and soreness after harder workouts on land.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to swim?
No. All classes take place in shallow water where you can comfortably stand. If you are interested in learning to swim, we offer beginner swimming classes.
What should I bring?
A swimsuit, towel, and optional water shoes. We provide all additional equipment, such as kickboards, water weights, and pool noodles.
Is chlorine safe for my skin?
Our pools are maintained to the highest sanitation standards. Rinse off after class and apply moisturizer if you have sensitive skin.
Can I combine aqua and land workouts?
Absolutely—many members use water training for active recovery days or cross-training to boost overall performance.
Is there anything else I should know?
Yes! Make sure to shower before entering the pool to remove deodorant, lotion, perfumes, and body oils—this helps maintain a balanced pool chemistry.
