How does the Team Training program work?

Team Training programming uses pre-designed classes with a 4-week periodization that is based on four phases: Establish, Enhance, Elevate, and Density.

  • Endurance focuses on stabilization and cardiovascular endurance
  • Enhance stimulates hypertrophy and strength.
  • Elevate Improves force production and fast-twitch activation
  • Density notes improvements from month to month.

Each phase lasts an entire week spanning a 30–45-minute workout program per class. Programming is changed throughout the week. All workouts encompass the four pillars of Team Training: Cardio, Power, Strength, and Endurance.

  • Cardio – Smooth and rhythmic
  • Power – Explosive and fast
  • Strength – controlled and purposeful
  • Endurance – Balance, coordination, stability and stamina

Each of the four pillars is made up of lower, upper, and total body exercises. Participants perform all three exercises per station following the work/rest prescription before rotating to the next station. Tempo, load, and intensity change depending on the phase. Team Training will take the guesswork out of your training and with over 156 lesson plans per year you will never get bored or do the same routine.

Technology

Team Training utilizes Myzone technology to create a fun and competitive environment with real-time feedback on performance and exertion. Myzone is a wearable heart rate-based system that allows participants and coaches to monitor physical activity. Myzone monitors heart rate, calories and time exercising that convert into Myzone Effort Points (MEPs) that focus on rewarding effort rather than fitness level.
Team Training participants must have an approved Myzone heart rate strap in order to participate in the program. Myzone heart rate straps are available for purchase with initial registration.

The MX4 Training System leverages Matrix-exclusive equipment including the Connexus Functional Training System, S-Drive Performance Trainer, Rower and S-Force. These unique tools can be used in virtually limitless combinations to keep group training so fresh and engaging that you will be inspired to come back for more.
